Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst (Audiobook)

March 6, 2014 by Darlene

some

Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst was a fantastic audiobook that I really enjoyed. It is narrated by Madeleine Maby and she is fabulous. I loved the tone of her voice and all the different inflections she used for the characters. One thing I love when listening to audiobooks is a narrator that can bring a story to life for me and Madeleine Maby definitely does that!

Our main character Kate owns and runs a matchmaking business called Kinnections with her two best friends from college. As an added benefit Kate has a special gift that allows her to touch people and know if they are the perfect soul mates. Although Kate seems to have bad luck finding her own love match she still believes in the magic and goodness of love. I loved Kate from the minute I learned she saved a dog that was badly hurt and kept him because she fell in love with him. That’s the kind of character she was and it made it very easy to both like and sympathize with her.

When Slade walks into her office her first thought is of course that Slade is gorgeous. However he is furious. His baby sister joined Kinnections and he is fiercely protective of her because she’s had a rough past. There is another thing though – Slade is a divorce lawyer and he has seen and heard enough that his opinion of love is severely jaded. He thinks Kinnections is just one big farce to rip innocent people of their money.

So Slade takes a leap and joins Kinnections himself to prove that it’s a fraud. He challenges Kate to find him his dream woman. By a turn of fate though he and Kate share a kiss and even he feels the electric jolt that comes from it. Kate can’t believe that she’s waited this long for the magic of her power to work for her and that it ends up being a man like Slade who has no use for love. To top it off the two of them drive each crazy but neither can deny the attraction that exists between them. Can they ever get past the bickering and see the magic of love instead?

Searching for Someday is such a sweet and romantic book. I thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook and my only complaint is that it flew by too fast. As a note for my readers that are uncomfortable with sexual content in their reading this book does have some. It’s tastefully done but I realize it isn’t for everyone. Searching for Someday is a novel of love’s magic and believing that somewhere, someday it will exist for you. Highly recommended!
