Happy Sunday everyone! It’s been ages since I’ve posted on a Sunday but I had my blog redesigned a bit and I have a few pics of Sam I wanted to share so here I am. I’d love to get back into my Sunday posts but we’ll have to see. I’m having a bunch of dental work done this summer and I get sedated for it and it manages to knock me out for a few days (lol) so my blogging may suffer slightly.
So the new blog design. I found Lea from Lea Christine Designs who is an awesome designer – check out her site – and told her what I envisioned the blog looking like and she did such a great job. It’s exactly what I wanted! I’ve wanted to change the blog for a long time while still keeping my general look so it’s still identifiable as my blog and Lea did that perfectly. I’ve had issues for a while reading blogs on coloured backgrounds so that was one of the main things I wanted to change as well as decluttering the blog which is why there is only one sidebar now. Anyhow there’s a few little glitches to iron out but I’m very happy with it and I hope all of you will too!
I haven’t shared any pics of Sam for ages so I’m going to post a few – even one of when we had snow in the beginning of May. He’s been doing pretty good health wise other than the issue with his skin. He’s on his liver and thyroid meds and still on his diet which all seems to be agreeing with him. We’ll be doing bloodwork at the end of fall I think so hopefully it’ll still be stable. Anyhow he’s still full of trouble driving his mom crazy so that’s a good sign I would think. Lol.
Snow in the beginning of May. The only one happy with that was Sammy. I love this picture because you can just feel his joy at being in the snow.
Sammy smelling the flowers on our walk yesterday.
So what did everyone do this weekend? Anything special? Reading anything good? I just finished The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley which I’ll be reviewing tomorrow and it was awesome! Now I’m reading Doughnuts & Deadly Schemes by my great friend Janel Gradowski and listening to The Virgin’s Daughter by Laura Andersen – both are very good.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Wow, you’ve been busy. Happy to see pics of Sammy enjoying himself and relaxing. I’ll have to check out that Lucinda Riley book. I’ve read a couple of hers and liked them. Have a great week, Tootsie! Love ya!
Kaye, the Lucinda Riley book is the first in a series of seven books. I’ll definitely be reading all seven. I’ve never read any of hers before and I’ve been missing out! Love you too!
I do love your new blog look — nice and clean and easy on the OLDER eyes:) thanks
Sammy makes me smile.
Diane, Sammy makes me smile too. I wish he liked his picture taken more often but he’s definitely camera shy.
Sammy is just adorable – I’m glad he’s doing well. I love the new, clean look of the blog.
Kathy, thanks. I think he may be having some issues with his thyroid again so I’m going to take him in to the vet this week but otherwise things seem good. Hope they stay that way for a long time!
So funny – I’m reading a book called The Seven Sisters today, too, but it’s by Margaret Drabble!
Love the new look. Like Diane says, it’s easier on aging eyes 😉
And Sammy is adorable, as always.
JoAnn, that is funny! I’m glad everyone seems to like the new look. It is definitely much easier on my eyes too!
Your new blog design looks great!
I love the photos of Sammy, especially the first one. You know how much I miss snow!
Vicki, thanks so much. I know you miss snow but I could do without it. lol. I’m not sure I’d ever miss it. I like the nice weather much better. Sammy loved that day in the snow. There was so much of it and he thought it was just awesome.
I love the new look to your blog! It’s easy on the eyes and maintained your signature 🙂 Sammy is adorable, love to see pics!
Bonnie, thanks. Yes I wanted to keep the general look of my blog because I always liked that. Just cleaned it and redesigned a bit. I wish I could post more pics of Sam but he hates his picture taken. Maybe I’ll try to catch him at least once a week so I have a picture to post. lol.
I’m so glad to hear that Sammy is stable. It makes me so sad when I hear about the health problems of my cyber friends and their fur-babies. But the fact that we stick together, share our fears, and receive positive thoughts and love from one another is the best.
Wishing you and Sammy and fabulous summer!
Connie, I feel the same. I don’t like hearing about animals not being well. It breaks my heart. Thank you so much for all those positive thoughts you send Sam’s way!
I think the new blog design is great. Like you say, a little easier on the eyes. Love your puppy pics. He’s a cutie for sure. Have a good week!
Kay, thanks. Yes Sam is a cutie and he knows it. lol. Hope you have a great week as well.
Your new blog looks great, Darlene! I keep thinking I should hire someone to do mine up, but I can’t see spending the money right now. Maybe if I blogged more regularly . . .
Thank you for sharing the photos of Sammy. He’s so adorable. 🙂
It’s been a quiet Sunday at our house. We had plans, but they fell through when my daughter woke up with a fever. It’s turned into a lazy day instread. I hope you have a great week!
Thanks Wendy. I agree if you’re not blogging regularly that there isn’t a huge rush to do anything with your blog. I’m still hanging in there with the blogging and I don’t see quitting for a while yet.
I hope Mouse is feeling better. A fever isn’t good. You guys always have such busy weekends. I bet it was nice to just relax but would have been much better with Mouse feeling good.
Hope your week is a good one as well!
I’ll bet Sam was the only one happy with snow in May any where on the continent! Glad to hear he is doing so well! Sorry to hear about the dental work. My hubby and I both battle dental problems – so hoping the great luck with their teeth my kids have had so far continues as they age. It’s no fun to go through and even less fun to pay for!
Lisa, the dental issues are a nightmare and geez it’s expensive. It’s ridiculous really. I’ve always been terrified of the dentist and while I take care of my teeth you still really need the dentist. Consequently I have a bit of work to be done now. Aging is the pits isn’t it. So many body parts just aren’t as good as when we’re younger. Lol.
Your new blog design is so crisp and inviting. Oh, that Sammy is just so stinkin’ cute. Have a great week, Dar!
Thanks so much Beth and yes he is stinkin’ cute isn’t he. Lol. I just wish he loved the camera a tad more. Hope you have a great week my friend.
Darlene, I really like the new look of your blog. It is lovely. Sammy is such a cutie. Thank goodness spring has come your way at last! 🙂
Susan, thanks so much. I really like it too. Yes spring is finally here and now we need rain. It’s much too dry and we’ve got way too many forest fires.
I like your blog look. I like white backgrounds, too. and {{hugs}} for Sammy! he looks adorable. I’m just about to take my two pups out for a hot and humid walk. Might not make the 3 miles I was hoping for, I’m sweating just thinking about going out there. UGH.
Care, thanks. The white background is so much easier to read. I was having trouble reading my own blog before. Lol. Sammy is a sweetie and also full of trouble. It’s a dog’s life right. We had a nice walk this morning. It’s cooled off here thankfully. Sam really doesn’t like walking when it’s hot. He just keeps turning around to go home and truthfully I’m not all that fond of walking in the heat either. We usually go about a mile and a half but should be doing more. What kind of dogs do you have? Give them a squeeze from me!
The blog turned out great. I know you had asked about the background color but I think light was the way to go. I love the texture in the background as well. Provides a nice contrast that is also easy on the peepers. Ever since that stupid corneal tear I had, I re-injure it every 2-3 weeks and looking at some pages is just painful. I go back to a specialist at the end of July but that was the soonest they could see me.
Ti, I still have problems with my eye as well. Even if I get dust in it and rub it I cause issues so I know how you feel. I hope the specialist will be able to help. They’ve told me I can have laser surgery to repair the scar tissue and I guess I may have to do that one day.
I am so happy to see Sammy! He is so dang adorable. Wishing you all the best with the dental work. Congrats on the new design, looks great.
Nise, thanks. Dental work is the pits but it’s gotta get done.
