Jack and Grace are the perfect couple. Jack is handsome and wealthy and Grace elegant and beautiful. They are the couple that everyone wants to be.
What the outside world perceives to be is quite often not what is. Behind closed doors Grace’s life is anything but perfect. The Jack who swept her off her feet when they were dating is not the man she finds herself married to. Grace is a prisoner in her own home with Jack controlling everything. All the while Jack holds Grace’s sister Millie, who needs special care, over her giving her no choice but to submit to him.
What a book! I listened to the audiobook and the hours flew by. I couldn’t stop listening. It’s narrated by Georgia Maguire who I haven’t listened to before but she does such an awesome job with this story that I’d certainly listen to her again in the future.
This was one of those books that had me talking to myself. I always laugh when that happens but really it’s the sign of a good book. This novel makes you wonder how well you really know anyone because truthfully no one is ever able to see behind closed doors to what might be a nightmare within.
Excellent book! Highly recommended for those who enjoy psychological thrillers.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this book and have it on my stack to take to the beach.
Starting this one today.
I totally understand about talking to yourself about a book while reading/listening. This book made me so anxious but I couldn’t stop reading! Creepy good.
I haven’t seen this one around yet but it does sound interesting and maybe one for book clubs.
