I have been a fan of Sally Hepworth for a while now. I was really excited to listen to The Younger Wife and it didn’t disappoint in the least! She is an author who has a way of writing a psychological thriller that holds you just on the edge wondering what might happen next and then she throws in a few twists and turns just to hold you there a while longer. This one grabbed me from the first few lines and held me there until the end.
Rachel and Tully are shocked when their father introduces them to the new girlfriend and announces they’re going to get married. Why you say? Well first he’s still married to their mother who is suffering from dementia and let’s just say the new girlfriend is younger than the both of them. What is he thinking? They are sure she is just after his money as he’s a prominent heart surgeon. But then they start to learn little things about their father and long ago memories start to surface that leave them questioning if they ever really knew this man they called Dad.
The audiobook was so good and with fantastic narration! It’s narrated by Barrie Kreinik, Caroline Lee, Jessica Douglas-Henry, and Zoe Carides and they did a fabulous job of bringing this story to life. Barrie Kreinik and Caroline Lee are two of my favourite narrators and I’ve listened to them many times. I haven’t listened to the other two before but wouldn’t hesitate to in the future.
Another winner for me from Sally Hepworth! If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers add The Younger Wife to your reading list!
