About Bone Box

On a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea in Turkey, an international team of archeologists discovers a stone box that first-century Jews used to rebury their dead. The box’s Aramaic inscription: Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ. Sophia Altay, the beautiful French-Turkish archeologist who heads the team, tries to keep the discovery secret until she can authenticate the ossuary. She knows that people will kill to obtain the relics—and to suppress the box’s other contents, documents that could alter Western history.

Joseph Travers, an American sent to Turkey to evaluate the archeological dig, soon finds himself pulled into the web of betrayal, reprisal, and violence. In his journey through Istanbul’s mosques and palaces, the archeological sites around ancient Ephesus, and, ultimately, the strange and mystical terrain of Cappadocia, he comes to understand the epochal meaning of the bone box.

Keep Dancing by Leslie Wells & Rafflecopter Giveaway for a ‘Happily Ever After’ Diamond Ring!

May 1, 2015 by Darlene

danceKeep Dancing by Leslie Wells is a sequel to Come Dancing (my review) and the continuation of Jack and Julia’s story.  There is also a little Christmas novella called Dancing with Mistletoe which is really sweet too.  I love this series because of Jack and Julia.  They are hilarious as they wade their way through the ups and downs of a relationship.  Add to the mix that Jack is a famous rock star and Julia just a tad insecure in their relationship and you have a recipe for disaster at times.  Adding even more fuel to the fire is Julia, now on the rise at a publishing company, wanting to focus on her career while Jack may be looking for a bit more in terms of a family life.   Yes, we’re talking some sparks flying!

Keep Dancing carries on right where Come Dancing ends so we’re still in the 1980’s when things were so much different.  You couldn’t track down your mate by texting them or when your famous rock star boyfriend goes on tour you don’t have the option of catching him on Skype to make sure he’s behaving himself.  No you just have to muddle through your worries and hope for the best.  And when two people have the incredibly bad communication skills that Jack and Julia have, well then you know there is going to be trouble.

So briefly Keep Dancing finds twenty-four year old Julia finally making it in the publishing world and she’s never been more motivated to succeed than she is now.  She’s living with Jack and things seem to be going fairly well although Julia still has issues with completely trusting Jack.  How do you trust a man who constantly has women fawning over him?  It’s even harder when Jack doesn’t always make it home when he should.  Yet things are progressing … until they aren’t.  Jack has a huge tour and Julia a new bestselling author that she can’t ignore.  Jack is feeling neglected and Julia is feeling angry.  All it takes is one night for everything to crumble.

I thought this book was a great follow up to the first one.  You could read it on its own but I think you’d really be missing out by not seeing how Jack and Julia came to be in the first place.  For me these books are an escape.  I get to enter Jack and Julia’s not so perfect world at times and it’s so much fun.  They both have great personalities and together they are sizzling which reminds me to let my readers that don’t like a lot of steamy sex in their books that they should steer clear.  If you don’t mind though you’ll definitely be fanning yourself through this one!  It’s a great series and I’m hoping there is still more to come from Jack and Julia.  Highly recommended.

Diversion Books
Formats: eBook, Paperback

Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Crime Fiction
Series: The Rusty Diamond Trilogy (Book One)

A street magician needs more than sleight-of-hand to survive getting embroiled in a murder case in this blistering novel of suspense, perfect for fans of Harlan Coben and George Pelecanos.

After years of chasing fame and hedonistic excess in the bright lights of Las Vegas, Rusty “The Raven” Diamond has returned home to Ocean City to piece his life back together. When he finds himself an innocent suspect in his landlord’s brutal murder, Rusty abandons all hope of maintaining a tranquil existence. Acting on impulse, he digs into the investigation just enough to anger both the police and a local drug cartel.

As the unsolved case grows more complex, claiming new victims and inciting widespread panic, Rusty feels galvanized by the adrenaline he’s been missing for too long. But his newfound excitement threatens to become an addiction, leading him headfirst into an underworld he’s been desperately trying to escape.

Austin Williams creates an unforgettable protagonist in Rusty, a flawed but relatable master of illusion in very real danger. As the suspense builds to an explosively orchestrated climax, Williams paints a riveting portrait of both a city—and a man—on the edge.

Come Dancing by Leslie Wells & Giveaway (eBook – open Internationally)

September 15, 2014 by Darlene

COMECome Dancing by Leslie Wells takes us back to the 80’s when cell phones didn’t exist, people still read print books, and listened to actual records. Come Dancing is not only a step back in time but also a peek into the world of rock and roll, publishing, and a hot and steamy romance to wrap it all up!

Julia, in her early twenties, is a publisher’s assistant and of course a huge book lover. Her dream is to become an editor but at this point she doesn’t know if that will ever happen. Her love life really isn’t going all that well either. Having been dumped by her latest boyfriend as he went back to his wife she’s wondering if love will ever come her way. On a night out with her friend Vicky she meets Jack. Jack is a rock star and certainly not anyone she would ever imagine would be interested in her. Yet he is.  And that is exciting to her.

As Jack and Julia get to know each other Jack knows that Julia is unlike any girl he’s known before. For Julia this is all so different. Jack takes her to fancy restaurants, nightclubs, parties, and even to his concert. She is really falling for him and yet she can’t give all of herself to him. If her past with men has taught her one thing it is to be careful. She doesn’t want to be hurt again. The more time she spends with him though she falls deeper and deeper into a heated romance such as she’s never had before but along with that comes the despair she feels when he doesn’t call or she hears about yet another woman that he’s been with. Can two so very different people really make a relationship work?

I enjoyed Come Dancing. It is an easy read and a good way to pass an afternoon. I found the beginning a bit slow going but as the story began to build I found myself much more invested in it. I also loved that it took place back in the 80’s as it was fun to go back to that time and realize just how much things have changed. For me I would have liked to read more about the publishing world and a little less of the bedroom antics but that’s a matter of taste. Overall though I liked the characters, the story, and especially the ending – it was a fun read and I adored Jack and Julia! For my readers who shy away from the extra steamy stuff though be warned that this is one of those reads. For those who love them – well then you’re going to love this one !
